Shooting Stars Story Cafe

We took part in a fantastic story cafe on Tuesday afternoon. The children enjoyed drinks and biscuits whilst listening to ‘On the Night of the Shooting Star’ by Amy Hest and Jenni Desmond, a story of wonder and friendship. They then enjoyed collaging their own friendship shooting stars, which made a stunning classroom display

Interesting Art in RE

The children took part in an interesting art gallery today, discussing in teams various pieces of art from Christian, Jewish and Hindu artists.  They had to decide why they thought the artist made each piece and what the piece was trying to communicate.  The children made thoughtful contributions and were so respectful of each other!

The Year 2's impressed us with their use of punctuation in our grammar session this week!  They love using Kung Fu punctuation as we read various sentences (I'm sure they would love to demonstrate it for you).  And the Year 1's have been busy learning about proper and common nouns.

We had loads of fun in PE playing various versions of 'Stuck in the Mud' and taking on various balancing challenges!  The children have really enjoyed taking part in our daily exercise sessions and especially liked the Joe Wicks workouts we completed on Thursday and Friday.

All in all, an action packed week was had!

Have a restful weekend lovely Lions!

Forest School Fun 🌲🌳🍁🔥

We’ve had some gorgeous, autumnal forest school sessions so far this half term. The children have really enjoyed using hammers, nails and wood and have come up with some amazing creations! We’ve also been gathering firewood, warming our hands and making hot chocolate, as well as shelter building, mud kitchen fun and much more.

We are Geographers!

This week we enjoyed a local area walk. The children loved spotting and naming geographical features, especially the stile, which they all had a go at crossing. They were respectful of other walkers we passed and responsible by remembering to close gates behind us. We are hoping to do the same walk again during the winter time to notice how the woodland area changes over the seasons.
